About TTG International

Training Task Group is an Ottawa-based training and management consulting firm that was founded in 1985. We have worked with senior civil servants and executives throughout Canada and around the world.

Our Approach to Adult Education

During the past 18 years the Canadian economy - taking its cue from the global economy - has been in a period of intense change. Success is harder to quantify and change has become the norm, not an exception. To navigate this new economy and achieve the success that organizational leaders strive for is at once more important and more difficult to do. Training Task Group was born of these changes, and has helped hundreds of leaders and managers to understand and to work more effectively in this difficult, but energizing, context.

Every program we offer at Training Task Group is designed to create an environment that facilitates adult learning and emphasizes the transfer of that learning to the workplace. Our customized workshops are interactive and experiential. Lectures are kept to a bare minimum. We engage participants in a process of guided discovery based on real problem-solving. We keep the material fresh and the pace lively by including a wide variety of teaching methods such as videos, simulations, case studies, self-scoring questionnaires and large group problem-solving discussions.

Participants always have the opportunity to share their experiences, help each other learn and apply the learning back to the real world of work. We make sure each participant leaves our programs with a Personal Action Plan. "Employee education contributes to a distinct corporate strategic advantage when the curriculum helps employees makes correct choices... "

For each course, we like to do a needs analysis by getting input from participants about what they need to learn. This enables us to describe the learning objectives of the course so that each participant knows exactly what to expect. This "systems approach" also requires an evaluation after the program to see if the participants needs were met.
